Create your first Document
Choose one explicit primary mode, then add organization and reader-facing context.
1. Add the central record
Open DocToucan → Add New. Enter a clear title, excerpt and, when useful, a featured image.
2. Choose one mode
- Article: write the readable content with blocks. Attachment and URL sources stay empty.
- Attachment: select one Media Library file. DocToucan derives available file facts and truthful Preview/Download actions.
- External URL: enter one validated HTTP(S) destination. Use overrides only for facts that cannot be known safely.
3. Organize and publish
Add Document Categories and Tags. Article Documents can also use Parent and Order for documentation hierarchy. Preview the single page and its action labels before publishing.
Do not mix sources: inactive source values are cleared and invalid mixed states are rejected.
